I have begun to make fondant cakes and when I cover cake with fondant, buttercream always seems to ooze out from bottoms. So can I completely skip the buttercream or is it necessary? I do let the buttercream completely set. I usually leave it for 2 days before I cover it, that doesn’t seem to work. Or do I need to make buttercream thicker?
Hi, I have been researching how to make a fondant covered cake, and very few sites say what kind of cake to use. I understand that pound cake would be a good choice because it’s dense.
Has anyone used a packaged cake mix for their fondant cake? How did it turn out? Thanks!
I have to make a cake for Home Economics. I’m in seventh grade I never decorate things.. I tried to fondant a cake once but just putting the frosting on ruined the cake (It all got torn up and chunks of cake were in the frosting) What type of frosting and cake is best accompanied by fondant ?
